Welcome,
I did have a website previously, but it was a half-hearted
attempt and i allowed it to lapse.
It's February 2006, and whilst more or less house bound at
the moment due to sciatica, I have been surfing the web. In
doing so i have come across www.codds-n-odds.co.uk
This is a site where a fellow collector shares his fabulous
collection of North Wales Ginger Beers and Welsh plus other
coloured minerals. Fair to say that this inspired me to do
the same with my collection.
I asked the web designer who designed and
maintains the website concerned with my other passion, football
(see links), to come up with some ideas. He did, and here
we are!
It has been split into four sections: Shrewsbury
Flagons, Shrewsbury Ginger Beers, Shropshire Pot Lids and
Miscellaneous. This covers my collection gathered over nearly
30 years. It may not have any amazingly striking rarities
and mega valuable coloured minerals, but its all about where
I come from, my roots and all thats good about my home Town
and County.
As with all collectors I am always looking
to add to my collection, especially in the three opening categories.
Below is a list of known items not in my collection. If you
have, or know the whereabouts of any of these, or even one's
not mentioned or photographed, please do not hesitate to contact
me via email, thompson8888@btinternet.com
or mobile 07706950725.
In 2002 I wrote a book entitled, Salop's Pottery Packaged
Past and even if I can't prise the item off you, perhaps I
can at least photograph it for Volume 2. I am sure Shropshire
has plenty more lids to offer yet from, Church Stretton, Wem,
Shifnal, Whitchurch, Ludlow,Newport,Bridgnorth,Wellington,
as well as more from the County Town.
